A surveillance image of an armed robbery was provided by the Inglewood Police Department on Oct 15, 2015.

In the video, a man dressed in black is seen approaching a cashier counter where two other men are standing in line.

The robber then taps one of the men and gestures for him to move out of the way before pushing the second man and pointing a gun into the cashier's window.

Both of the customers quickly run from the gunman who can be seen leaning into the window and taking items from the counter.

After putting some of the items in his pocket, the robber turns and walks out of view of the camera.

The same man was believed to be involved in six armed robberies that took place in Inglewood between June 10 and June 17, the Inglewood Police Department stated in a news release, which listed the locations.

  • Dollar Tree on North La Brea Avenue - June 10

  • Metro PCS store on West Manchester - June 13
  • Subway on South Prairie Avenue - June 14
  • Chevron on Century Boulevard - June 16
  • Jack in the Box on West Century Boulevard - June 17

The video released Thursday was dated June 16. It was not immediately clear why police were putting out word about the robberies some four months after they occurred.

In each of the six robberies, the suspect was described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 35, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing from 150 to 180 pounds with what was described as a "slim build."

He was said to be seen wearing a "Mo-hawk" or "Fo-hawk" during the crime spree time frame.

He also appears to have used the same semi-automatic handgun in each of the six robberies, according to the Police Department.

In addition to these robberies, investigators identified the same man as being responsible for three more armed robberies at businesses in Los Angeles during June.

A 47-year-old Inglewood man was convicted Thursday of nine counts of premeditated attempted murder of police officers and the  kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old girl during a nine-hour standoff in 2013.

Jurors also found Christopher Warsaw guilty of nine counts of assault on a peace officer with a semiautomatic firearm, two counts of false imprisonment of a hostage and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Police received reports about some armed men in the area of Crenshaw Boulevard between West Century Boulevard and Imperial Highway just after 11 p.m. Monday, said Lt. Held with the Inglewood Police Department.

Video from the scene showed the men walking around in camouflage, carrying rifles and shouting messages about racism.

Police arrived at the scene and monitored the men as they walked around the neighborhood.

"Right now we are giving a peaceful demonstration. Nobody's being shot. Nobody's being brutalized. We're out here just exposing racism, white supremacy," one of the men told KTLA.

Both men then showed their rifles on camera before putting them, apparently unloaded, into the back of a black vehicle. The men then got into the vehicle.

It was unclear if the firearms were loaded at any point during the incident, but police remained on alert.

"We don't recommend anyone to walk around in public, day or night, with a firearm in plain view," said Inglewood police Sgt. Geoffrey Meeks.

At about 7 a.m., police pulled two men over in Lakeview Terrace, aerial video from Sky5 showed.

The men were believed to be the same two who were walking around in Inglewood earlier, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Liliana Preciado.

One of the men removed his shirt and sat down on a curb with his pants around his ankles before being apprehended, video showed.

The second man was struck by a rubber bullet and then taken into custody, Preciado said.

Police were going to question the men, but it was unclear if any charges would be filed, Preciado said.

“We’re trying to find out who this person is. … We don’t know if there are any firearms in the vehicle,” Lund said. “Hopefully this vehicle will voluntarily stop.”

The vehicle appeared to be a silver two-door Mercedes-Benz coupe, which seemed to be traveling safely and at a moderate speed, aerial video from Sky5 showed.

On the northbound 405 Freeway, the vehicle passed the busy interchange with the 101 Freeway about 3:30 p.m., eventually getting onto the northbound 5 Freeway, passing Santa Clarita and going over the Grapevine.

Aerial video showed the driver pulled over at a gas station off the 5 Freeway north of the split with state Route 99. He walked around with a backpack and then, when CHP officers arrived a few minutes later, lay face-down on the pavement and surrendered.

The pursuit started when Inglewood police provided a license plate for the hotel vandalism case, and the motorist failed to yield to an attempted stop by CHP, according to Lund. It was not clear where the attempted stop occurred or which hotel was allegedly vandalized.

An Inglewood police lieutenant said he could not provide information due to an the ongoing investigation.

The Inglewood police officers who fatally shot a young couple, firing 20 bullets into them as they appeared to be unconscious in a parked car, are no longer police officers in the city, Mayor James T. Butts announced Tuesday.

The announcement marked the end of an internal probe of the Feb. 21, 2016, killing of Marquintan Sandlin and Kisha Michael, but it offered scant information about the deadly incident, which has stoked protest and calls for greater transparency in the Inglewood Police Department. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is continuing to investigate the shooting.

“The officers involved in the incident are no longer members of the Inglewood Police Department,” Butts said in his statement on Tuesday. “The Department’s report and any discipline that results from the report are confidential.”

Butts said the internal investigation into the fatal shooting of Sandlin, 32, and Michael, 31, was completed on Friday. His statement, issued by his spokeswoman Jasmyne Cannick, did not specify the number of officers nor whether they were fired or had resigned. The officers were not named.
